CATAN Traders & Barbarians 6th Edition

Once the first settlements and cities go up, the island stops being so friendly and that’s exactly where Traders & Barbarians comes in. This expansion bundles five scenarios onto your CATAN 6th Edition set, from peaceful fishing and river trade right through to fending off a full barbarian invasion. It’s the box for the group who’ve played the base game to death and want CATAN to fight back a bit.

What’s in the box

• Five scenarios: The Fishermen of Catan, The Rivers of Catan, The Great Caravan, Barbarian Invasion and Traders & Barbarians
• 98 wooden player pieces, including wagons, barbarians and knights
• 120+ new fish, coin and commodity tokens, plus 88 new event and development cards
• New river and terrain hexes, plus rules for a 2-player game

How it plays

• Fish the coast, build along the rivers and run merchant caravans for the nomads
• Rally knights to see off a Barbarian Invasion before the raiders overrun the island
• Play the scenarios back to back as a campaign, or cherry-pick your favourite for a one-off session

It’s the shot in the arm a well-worn CATAN set needs new mechanics, new tension, and reasons to fight over the same island all over again.

Requires the CATAN 6th Edition base game to play. A pack of card sleeves keeps the new decks in shape too.
