Battlefields & Basing: Rocky Sand

Nothing undoes a nicely painted miniature like a bare plastic base. Rocky Sand is the fast fix: a fine, mixed-texture basing sand from the Battlefields & Basing range by Warlord Games and War World Scenics, turning flat bases into convincing broken ground in minutes. It’s just as handy across a diorama or a terrain board when you need larger areas of natural-looking earth.

How to use it

• Brush watered-down PVA onto the base, dip or sprinkle, and tap off the excess
• Seal with another thin coat of PVA, then drybrush or wash to match your force
• Mix with tufts, rocks or static grass for extra variety

Best for

• Rocky, arid or scrubland bases for any game system
• Adding texture variation to terrain boards and dioramas
• Keeping a whole army’s basing consistent one shaker goes a long way

One 180ml shaker will base a serious number of miniatures, and because it takes paint and washes well, it’ll match whatever theme your army is already on.
