Basing Sand – Fine Grit – 400g

Every hobbyist ends up needing a pot of decent basing sand sooner or later, and this is the one that earns a permanent spot on the bench. Colour Forge’s fine grit sand is kiln-dried and ready to use straight from the tub no rinsing, no drying, no faff so you can get bases textured and ready for paint the same evening you build them.

Why it’s good

• Kiln-dried and ready to use straight from the pot no prep needed
• Fine grain takes glue, paint and washes cleanly for a natural ground texture
• Generous 400g tub lasts through project after project

How to use

• Brush PVA or basing glue onto the base, dip and tap off the excess
• Seal with a wash or drybrush once dry for instant depth
• Mix with basing rocks or static grass for varied terrain

It’s the unglamorous workhorse of a good basing scheme down as the foundation layer, or blended in for texture that actually looks like ground.

The foundation every good base starts with. Pairs perfectly with Basing Rocks and the wider basing materials range for extra texture.
